FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Hartford OH)...After what was predicted to
be a dry forecast for the annual "Apple Festival Nationals" at Sharon Speedway
on Friday and Saturday, the storm system came in some 24 hours early beginning
late Friday night washing out the RUSH Sprint Car feature as well as Saturday's
program that included the remainder of the Bicknell Racing Products RUSH
Sportsman Modified Touring Series event.
June 2 Sharon winner, Chad Ruhlman, and seventh starting Zach Morrow picked up
heat race wins on Friday night for the RUSH Sprint Cars.
The 20-lap Bonnell's Rod Shop feature was set to go green when the
intensity of the rain picked up, which unfortunately continued non-stop right
into Monday. The drivers that were
on the track will share in an equal payoff split.
All drivers will also receive show-up points.
RUSH Late Model racer, John Mollick, who has also had a lot of success
with the Super Late Models and Big-Block Modifieds over the years, made his
debut on Friday driving for Scott Clever.
Mollick became the 21st different car to compete in the inaugural season.
A
field of 29 RUSH Sportsman Modifieds competed in heat races on Friday night for
their Bicknell Touring Series event.
Ninth starting Garrett Krummert, David Kalb, Jr., and Josh Deems won the heat
races. Saturday was to include the
last chance B main and 25-lap $800 to-win feature.
Saturday's program has been rescheduled to the spring of 2019.
Member drivers that competed will receive Bicknell Weekly and/or Bicknell
Touring show-up points. The
rescheduled event will not award 2019 Bicknell Tour points, but will offer 2019
Bicknell Weekly Series points.
The RUSH Sprint Cars will be in action for two complete Bonnell's Rod Shop
Weekly Series special shows this Saturday and Sunday afternoon (September 15-16)
at Genesee Speedway in Batavia, NY paying $800 to-win each.
The top point man over the two nights will receive $300 provided both
nights are completed. Pace
Performance has sponsored free pit passes for competing racers on Saturday.
Race time is 4 p.m. both days.
The RUSH Sportsman Modifieds will have Bicknell Weekly Series events the next
three Saturday nights at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway followed by two complete
shows at Mercer Raceway Park on October 5-6.
The Bicknell Touring Series will conclude on October 12-13 at Lernerville
Speedway for the $800 to-win "Steel City Stampede".
